Summary
The movie I chose for this week is Ice Age III: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. This is the sequel of the second volume of the movie.
P.S. Manfred, the mammoth usually was also called Manny in the movie.
The adventure of this movie is about dinosaurs.
In the beginning of the movie, the story began with Manfred, the mammoth, and Ellie, the other female mammoth. They want to have a baby. Ellie was pregant. Manfred was so expected to their baby. Everyone was so happy in this big family. However, in this herd, there is somebody who is unhappy and worried.
Diego the Tiger, one of the main characters, was thinking about leaving the herd. Because he had to find his own adventure and family. He wanted to find another tiger to make his own family. When Manny asked Diego why he looks upset, Diego told Manny that he was considering to leave them. Manny was angry about that because he thought Diego doesn't like to be their family so he wanted to abandon them. Sie was also sad about that.
Diego just told them that he wanted to leave.
Diego leave the team alone to have his own adventure and family. Sid was also considering about having a family. He went to an icy cave, and then he found three big eggs there. Sid thought the three babies in the eggs was abandoned by their mother, so he decided to be their mama. He took the eggs, and tried to protect them. When he met Manny, he told him those three babies were his kids. However, Manny told him that he was stealing someone else's eggs and he had to put them back. Sid didn't listened to Manny.
Sid found these three eggs and wanted to be their mother.
After a day, the three babies came out from the eggs, and they are dinosaurs! The three baby dinosaurs liked Sid and called him Mama. Sid began to take care of them, play with them, and sleep with them. However, the dinosaur-mommy was really angry that her babies was gone. She showed up before all the animals to find her kids. Then she found that Sid got her three babies. Mommy dinosaur was angry and then she took her three babies and Sid back to her living place.
Three baby dinosaurs thought Sid was their mother.
Sid doesn't want to give back "his" kids.
Diego saw the dinosaur and Sid while he was on his way alone. Diego follow it. On the other hand, Manny, Ellie, and Crash and Eddie (the two possums) decided to start their journey to save Sid.
They passed through an underground passage into another area. They found another world underground there. It was a world with dinosaurs there. However, it was a dangerous place for them to be surrounded by different kinds of dinosaurs. Diego met them there. They tried to escape from the dangerous dinosaurs there. When they were surrounded by a big group of dinosaurs, there was a possum showing up and saved them.

A strange possum saved them!
This possum only had one eye. He lived here, in this dangerous forest. He had a very excellent living skill, with a cool knife in his hand. He saved Manny, Ellie, the two possums, and Diego. His name was Buck. He asked them why they were here. And told them to go home because it was not a safe place for them to stay. Manny told him that they wanted to save their friend - Sid. Buck told them to leave but they didn't listen to him. Manny, Ellie, the two possums, and Diego continued their trip. Buck followed them.
After a while, Diego and Manny was trapped in a big flower. They had a big danger because in three minutes they would be digested in the big teriible flower. Buck rushed into the big flower to save them out. He made it. Then they asked Buck to help them to save their firend - Sid and Buck agreed.
Manny and Diego were inside the flower!
Buck went inside and saved them.
Then they were in a cave, and they would die if they fall down the gorge. Buck told them they had to stop breathing for a while because there is poisonous gas. Buck brought Ellie to the other side first and safely. And then it's Manny, Diego, and two possums' turn. But they failed to stop breathing for a minute. They started to laugh. Buck told Ellie that they would laugh dying because that how the poisonous gas work. Buck wanted to save them but he failed. He also started to laugh. Finally, Ellie saved all of them.

In the night, Buck told them his own story. There was a huge dinosaur, Rudy, living in this area. One day he fought with it, and he survived. But he lost his one eye. When he tried to excape from Rudy's mouth, he successfully broke one of Rudy's tooth. And that tooth became Buck's knife. Buck lived in this dangerous forest just in order to kill Rudy oneday. That's his goal.
Buck was telling his adventure.
Meanwhile, Sid lived with Mommy-dinosaur and "their" three kids. At first, Mommy- dinosaur wanted to eat Sid. But her kids don't let her do it becaue they liked Sid. Mommy-dinosaur couldn't help but to let her kids stay with Sid. Furthermore, after some time, Mommy-dinosaur began to like Sid becaue she knew he also loved her kids, and her kids loved him.
Next day, Manny, Ellie, Diego, the two possums, and Buck arrived a rocky area. They encounter danger. The rock they were standing suddenly fell down. Ellie was up the cliff. The others were on the lower ground. All of the sudden, they heard a scream from Sid. Ellie also screamed and told Manny that she was going to give birth! They saw a lot of small velociraptors coming toward Ellie.
They made a decision. Buck and the two possums were going to save Sid. Manny and Diego stay here to save Ellie. The team separated.
Manny and Diego risked their fighting with a little group of small velociraptors. They cooperated together to protect Ellie, and then help Ellie to give birth. They successfully save her and she got a small cute female mammoth.

On the other side, Mommy-dinosaur hid her three kids but was too late to find Sid. Sid was chased after by the large dinosaur Rudy. Finally he ran away from the dinosaur but the ground he was standing on was cracking. The lava was everywhere, he was in big danger and was going to fall into the waterfall of lava.
Buck and the two possums rode on a pterodacty and flow into the sky. When they were approaching the waterfall of lava, the other pterodacties saw them and began to chase and attack them. The two possums uses their tail and the grapes to attack them. Just before the moment when Sid fell down into the lava, Buck and the two possums saved him. They made it! They survived!
Sid was gonna fall!
They saved Sid!
Buck, the two possums, and Sid came back to Manny, Ellie, and Diego. everybody were so happy the baby mammoth - Peach. Then Buck led them to the passage where they came from. However, Rudy showed up!
Buck distracted Rudy's attention to let them leave. But Manny, Ellie, Diego, Sid, and the two possums decided to stay here to help Buck. They successfully tied Rudy for a while to gain some time. But Rudy woke very soon. When Sid was going to be eat by Rudy, the mommy-dinosaur showed up. She saved Sid from Rudy and help them strike him into the cliff. The mommy-dinosaur and the three cute small baby dinosaurs said goodbye to Sid.
Rudy showed up, and Buck distracted it for them to run away.

They had to say goodbye.
They asked Buck to go with them because Rudy had already died. Buck agreed. However, when they passed through the passage in the cave. Buck heard the voice of Rudy. He told Diego that he had to stay there because there is the place which he belongs to. He had to come back to kill Rudy. He leave them.
Buck didn't go with them.
Manny, Ellie, Diego, Sid, and Crash and Eddie came back to the world they belong to - the icy world. Manny told Diego whether he still wanted to go or not. Diego said he would stay with them. Everybody were so happy Manny and Ellie had their own baby. That's the end of the story.

Diego: Look, who are we kidding, Manny? I am losing my edge. I’m not really built for chaperoning play dates.
Manfred: What are you talking about?
Diego: Having a family, that’s huge, and I’m happy for you, but that’s your adventure, not mine.
Manfred: So you don’t want to be around my kid?
Diego: No, no, no, That’s… You’re taking this the wrong way.
Manfred: No, go. Go find some adventure, Mr. Adventure Guy. Don’t’ let my boring domestic life hit you in the butt on the way out.
Reflection
This movie is the third volume of Ice Age, and this volume is talking about their adventure of going to another world with dinosaurs. In this movie, I saw the importance of making a family for the animals. Although they are so happy being together, they still want to make their own family. Like Diego, he said he wanted to find his own adventure and his own family. No matter what his friends said to him, he still decided to leave the herd to have his own adventure. Sid also wanted to have a family. And that is the reason why he stole the eggs from the Mommy-Dinosaur. However, I also see the true love between parents and children. Although Sid and the three baby dinosaurs are different species, they still have the true affection between each other. Sid was the first person the three baby dinosaurs saw after they came out from their eggs. Then they three thought Sid was their mother. And Sid also took care of them with his true love. He really loves them. Although the three baby dinosaurs are carnivores, they would never have the thought to hurt Sid. Sid didn't afraid of them, either. Even the Mommy-Dinosaur didn't eat Sid because her kids love him. The scene that Sid stood bravely in front of the Mommy-Dinosaur saying loudly to her that they three are his kids was so funny.
